OUR STORY

Dawson Country Club’s lineage dates to 1919 with the creation of a stock company. Later, in 1931 Dawson Golf Club was formed and the first golf course was constructed east of the city limits employing sand greens. In 1935, a new location was purchased within the city limits and construction began on new grass greens. In 1936 the Municipal Club of Dawson was inaugurated, establishing Dawson’s first permeant recreational facility and nine-hole golf course at its current location with a grand celebration. As Dawson grew so did the membership and club.
Dawson Country Club is rich in history and tradition. Members include generational family members, who enjoy the smaller atmosphere and closer relationship with other members. Events, golf tourneys, family gatherings, and other social activities are more personal and engaging, especially in today’s fast paced lives.  Members have a larger voice at Dawson Country Club. Many members have played a critical role since its inception ensuring its longevity from its original founders purchasing the land, to transferring the land to the membership allowing the members full control over the facility. Other members have donated equipment, time, supplies, and funding to ensure events or functions were successful. Throughout the generations, the facility and golf course have been updated to meet the demands of the membership and renewed efforts in 2021 are focused on customer fulfillment and growing our membership. Dawson Country Club is dedicated to its members and families.
